Diffusée à l’origine par la chaîne Antena 3, connue en France pour les séries Un, dos, tres ou Physique ou Chimie, La Casa de papel avait été un grand succès sur la péninsule ibérique avec une moyenne de 2,6 millions de spectateurs par épisode. Sentant le filon, Netflix avait donc racheté les droits de diffusion de la série espagnole à l’international.
