A visual exploration of the peculiarities of sisterhood.

There is an unspoken faithfulness that can only be found within a circle of sisters. Trusting each other blindly and knowing exactly how the others feel, what they think and why they need to smile at exactly this moment – that’s what true sisterhood or friendship is all about. With this editorial, photographer Raffaele Cariou captures this special bond through an exploration of the differences and similarities between women who might not share the same genes, but definitely the same spirit and mindset. Unanimously dressed in autumnal greens, browns, checkered print and turtlenecks, all spiced up with little furry details, the girls prove that sticking together works for inside and out.

This playful fashion editorial transports us to a gender-fluid English countryside.

This playful fashion editorial transports us to a gender-fluid English countryside

A fine-tuned clash of styles dominates photographer Damien Fry’s exclusive fashion editorial for SLEEK. Here, amongst fields of wheat and sunburnt furrows of dead grass, and rainbow streamers rippling in the wind, the masculine and feminine merge. These nostalgia-hued images of an alternative English countryside are a particularly ethereal departure for Fry, who has previously lensed the likes of Miley Cyrus, Carley Rae Jepson and Erin O’Connor. Instead, these fluid and romantic images transport us to another world, recalling old photos of Woodstock perhaps, or your parent’s youthful holiday snaps.

Meet the trans and androgynous models who stole the show at Louis Vuitton

« The casting in the show was very important – it proved to me that being yourself can take you a long way ».

It’s been a long time since Yves Saint Laurent debuted Le Smoking, but Tuesday night’s Louis Vuittonshow proved that a suit still has the power to shock. Marking the end to Paris Fashion Week, designer Nicolas Ghesquière presented a futuristic, self-referential collection that blended geography and time – but perhaps the main talking point was the casting.

Perpetual Revolution: The Paradox of Yohji Yamamoto.

Susannah Frankel pays testament to the designer’s eternal radicalism – in his words, and those of his legion collaborators and admirers.
Moments of dignity and grace in fashion are few and far between. If burgeoning collections high and low, imagery aimed at not just the insider few but many, and voracious social-media activity are all evidence of a new kind of democracy, the speed at which everything now moves may be counterintuitive to these. The world of Yohji Yamamoto is, by contrast, their very embodiment.

The Science Of Self-Care: Why 111Skin Is A Model Favorite.

For models, their most visible asset can be difficult to maintain. Shellacked with full coverage makeup, thrust into arid, cross Atlantic flight cabins, ridden with stress triggers – just how do the facially blessed keep it all together? The largest organ of the body naturally deserves the best care but with so many elixirs and potions promising youthful, ageless skin many rarely deliver – until 111Skin came along.

Dries Van Noten’s Colorful Addition to Paris Fashion Week.

A Sunny Disposition

In the midst of the uncertain geopolitical climate, Dries Van Noten see the glass half full. For their spring 2019 collection, the Antwerp-based designer’s choice of a crisp white event space played perfectly against the pops of orange, blue, green, and yellow that dominated the collection. Every color felt twice as tonally rich as the garments soared down the runway and, by the time that Van Noten took his bow, it was impossible to miss the sense of optimism he left hanging in the crisp Parisian air.

We LOVE Marine Serre.
