Agoria.

Agoria | Metal Magazine

Sebastien Dévaud, aka Agoria, put out his first full album since 2011 on April 26. Drift follows five previous albums, the birth of his multi-disciplinary label Sapiens, DJing worldwide, composing for film… He’s been busy. Drift, seemingly a reference to his Radio 1 mix of the same name, is a big change from previous “pure techno” releases. It seamlessly shifts from ambient pop song Embrace to more experimental It Will Never Be the Same and soulful track Remedy.

Dmitry Markov. Russia as you’ve never seen it.

“Every added picture is like another chapter in my own history”, says photographer Dmitry Markov in his book#Draft (published by Tree Media). His work walks away from the ‘social photography’ label. Through his photographs, he depicts scenes of daily life, his environment, his encounters with friends, colleagues, and other people around him. When he gets asked why he goes after ‘life’s unpleasant side’, he replies, “because I am part of it.” #Draft #Russia is his most recent exhibition, and you don’t want to miss it: until June 4 at the agnès b. boutique galerie in New York City.

Leto by Kirill Serebrennikov.

Leto by Kirill Serebrennikov | Metal Magazine

Evocative and brooding, Leto (‘summer’ in Russian) is a sexy love letter to ‘the good old days’. Director Kirill Serebrennikov wistfully looks back at his youth in 1980s Leningrad – an idealised balancing act between liberal rock and roll western culture and communist equality. He locates it as “The last summer before the Perestroika (reformation of Communism) towards contemporary Russia”.
